Pricing

You pay when the scale moves. Not before.

Most weight-loss apps charge a subscription whether you lose weight or not. NanoRhino is on your side of the scale: it's free until the weight actually comes off — you pay at the moment you lose, never before. This page is the complete guide to how that works.

$10 per pound lost.

Capped at $500 — total.

No subscription · No upfront charge · No card to start

Three promises, in writing.

These rules are published here, in our Terms of Service, and on our homepage. They're the contract our billing runs on.

1

The same pound never bills twice.

We bill only when you go below the lowest weight you've been billed at. If some weight comes back and you lose it again, the re-loss is free — you already paid for it once. Even a temporary dip never costs you extra.

2

No progress, no charge.

Plateaus cost nothing. There's no subscription running in the background. If you don't lose weight, you never pay a cent.

3

Capped at $500 — total.

No matter how much you lose, your lifetime total never passes $500. Lose more, pay nothing more.

How billing works, step by step.

  1. 1.Start free — no card, no account

Your TDEE calculation, your personalized plan, meal logging, photo analysis, and day-to-day coaching are all free to start. We don't ask for a payment method when you sign up, because there's nothing to charge yet.

  2. 2.Your baseline is your first weigh-in

The first weight you send your coach becomes your starting point. From then on, progress is measured from the weigh-ins you log in chat — the same numbers your coach uses to adapt your plan.

  3. 3.Cross a milestone — settle at the moment you win

Billing happens in 5-pound steps. The weigh-in that takes you below a milestone settles it right then: your coach celebrates with you and sends the settlement in the same conversation — celebration and receipt in the same breath. You knew the milestone was coming, so the bill is never a surprise.

  4. 4.The settlement text is a scorecard, not an invoice

It's a short recap of what you actually did — starting weight to now, days on plan — and the amount: pounds lost × $10. Whole pounds only; fractions roll forward to your next milestone.

  5. 5.Pay in a few taps

The message includes a payment link on the nanorhino.com domain that opens a secure Stripe checkout — Apple Pay or any card, no account to create, no password. You'll never have more than one open bill at a time.

A worked example, start to cap.

Suppose you start at 200 lb. Here's exactly what you'd pay, and when. Timelines vary — healthy loss is typically 1–2 lb a week — but the rules never do.

What you never pay for.

Pricing questions, answered.

Is there a subscription, an upfront fee, or a card on file to start?
No, no, and no. NanoRhino has no subscription, no signup fee, and doesn't ask for a payment method when you start. The only thing you ever pay for is actual weight loss: $10 per pound, capped at $500 total.
When exactly will I get my first bill?
The moment a weigh-in you log crosses your first 5-pound milestone — for most people a few weeks in. Your coach celebrates and settles it in the same conversation, and your progress updates count you down to the milestone along the way, so it's never a surprise.
What about water weight and daily fluctuations?
Daily weight naturally swings a pound or two on water alone — and the same-pound rule is your protection. Once you settle a milestone, it's banked: if the scale bounces back up tomorrow, re-losing those pounds is free, and nothing new is billed until you go below the lowest weight you've been billed at. Over your whole journey you pay for each pound exactly once, however bumpy the line is.
How do you know my weight?
From the weigh-ins you text your coach — the same numbers the coach uses to adjust your calorie target and plan. Your first weigh-in sets your baseline, and every bill is traceable to your own logged numbers and dates.
What if I regain some weight — do I ever pay for the same pounds twice?
Never. We track the lowest weight you've been billed at, and only pounds below it are ever billed. Say you start at 200 lb and reach 190: that's $100, and 190 becomes your billing floor. If you bounce to 195 and work back down to 190, those 5 pounds are free — you already paid for them. This is deliberate: much of the weight-loss industry earns from the regain-and-restart cycle. We only earn on new progress.
What if I plateau?
Plateaus are free. Weeks where the scale doesn't move cost nothing — there's no subscription quietly running in the background. Your coach keeps working with you through the plateau either way, because getting you moving again is the only way we get paid.
How do I actually pay?
Your coach texts you a payment link on the nanorhino.com domain. It opens a secure checkout powered by Stripe — Apple Pay or any major card, no account to create. From the text to paid is a few taps. We never see or store your card details; Stripe handles all of that.
How long do I have to pay — and what happens if a bill goes unpaid?
There's no countdown and no late fee. A bill simply has a 3-day window: if it stays open past that, coaching pauses — your coach is still there, but meal analysis, plan updates, and reminders wait until the bill is settled, and everything resumes the moment it clears. Your data, progress, and billing floor are never touched. And remember what the bill is: pounds you already lost, verified by your own weigh-ins.
Can future milestones be settled automatically?
If you save your payment method at checkout, later milestones settle automatically — and your coach tells you in the same message, the moment it happens, with your invoice attached. You'll never discover a charge on your statement first. Your first bill is always a payment link (never an automatic charge), and you can switch back to manual links anytime.
What happens when I hit the $500 cap?
You stop paying. $500 corresponds to 50 pounds — if you lose 60, 70, or 80, your total is still $500, and your coaching continues free for as long as you stay active. One condition keeps it fair: the free coaching is tied to an active relationship. If you go quiet for more than two weeks, your coach is retired (see the next question).
I hit the cap, then took a break — is coaching still free when I come back?
It depends how long the break was. Post-cap coaching stays free as long as you keep showing up — daily use costs nothing. But if you stop using NanoRhino for more than two weeks, your coach and plan are quietly retired and your membership ends. If you come back after that, you start over exactly like a new member: your first weigh-in sets a fresh baseline, and billing runs from there — $10 per pound below it, with a new $500 cap. All the billing rules, including the same-pound rule, apply within each membership.
Do partial pounds count?
We bill whole pounds only. If you've lost 5.8 pounds, we bill 5 — the 0.8 carries forward and counts toward your next milestone. We'd rather round in your favor than argue over decimals.
What if I stop weighing in?
Nothing is ever billed without your weigh-ins. But weigh-ins are also how your coach knows whether your plan is working and when to adjust it, so skipping them mostly costs you the coaching, not the bill. Weigh in regularly and you get both a plan that adapts and a bill you can verify line by line.
What's your refund policy?
Charges are only ever for results you've already achieved, and those charges are final and non-refundable — the full policy is in our Terms of Service. If you believe a bill is wrong, email support@nanorhino.com and we'll walk through your weigh-in log and dates with you.
Can pricing change after I start?
Any pricing change applies only going forward, with notice — never retroactively to weight you've already lost. The $10-per-pound rate and $500 cap you start under apply to everything you've achieved under them.
I'm on a GLP-1 — is pricing any different?
No — same model: $10 per pound, capped at $500, regardless of how you're losing the weight. The coaching adapts to the medication (protein focus, appetite changes, dose transitions), but the pricing doesn't.
What about maintenance or recomp goals?
The per-pound fee applies only to weight-loss goals. If you're at goal weight and using NanoRhino for maintenance or recomposition, there's no per-pound charge.
Are messages themselves free? Any limits?
Messaging NanoRhino is free for up to 50 messages per day. On SMS, standard carrier message and data rates may apply. If you ever approach a paid tier of usage, we'll notify you before any charge. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, HELP for assistance.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. NanoRhino is for adults 18 and older. We don't provide weight-loss coaching to minors.
Who do I contact about billing?
Email support@nanorhino.com. Your coach can cheer you through a plateau, but billing specifics are handled by a human on the support side — every bill is traceable to your logged weigh-ins, so questions are easy to resolve.
